Arizona Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Specialists, is seeking a quality Sleep Lab Technologist to join our accredited sleep lab team to provide comprehensive, compassionate, excellent quality of care.
Requirements:
Sleep Lab Technologist certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential, and CPR certification required. Eighteen months of sleep disorder care experience preferred.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in the use and theory of all equipment related to sleep testing and a thorough knowledge of the sleep/wake cycle and its pathologies, as well as, EEG theory appropriate to sleep monitoring and cardiopulmonary physiology during sleep. The ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills are highly desired.
.Demonstrates working knowledge of polysomnography, Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), oximetry and administration of supplemental O2, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP and/or Bilevel) studies, and the basics of Sleep Medicine
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic sleep monitoring studies, which may include home sleep test (HSTs)
- Analyze sleep study results using AASM scoring guidelines (version 2.6) to aid physicians/clinicians with diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and care of patients.
- Obtain artifact free sleep tracings that accurate reflect reflect physiologic processes occurring during sleep of patients utilizing the latest technology.
- Ensures an accurate and readable recording using deductive reasoning to troubleshoot minor problems and make adjustments as needed during the testing process.
- Collects and/or reviews pertinent medical, historical, and medication information in order to perform the appropriate study prescribed by the physician/clinician.
- Ensures quality assurance standards as outlined by AZPSS policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Requires Registry by Board Polysomnographic Technologists. Technologists. National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) highly desired but not required.
- Candidates must possess current CPR/BLS certification.
- Requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with at least 1 year of experience in all aspects of sleep disorders testing.
