The Production Manager is responsible for all functions and results of the two shift manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is a results oriented, hands-on manager with focus on continuous improvement driven by data. Additional attributes include energetic leadership qualities focused on safety, quality, cost, and happiness of associates. Prior pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical or food processing plant managerial experience along with a passion and drive to lead and motivate a high-performance team are important. Responsible for adhering to the Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect for assuring the quality, quantity, and cost of product produced.
Responsibilities
- The Production Manager is responsible for all functions and results of the two shift manufacturing operations
- The ideal candidate is a results oriented, hands-on manager with focus on continuous improvement driven by data
- Responsible for adhering to the Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect for assuring the quality, quantity, and cost of product produced
- A hands-on Manager working with the team members to evaluate and improve production output, evaluate run rates and reduce changeover time at a minimum cost as possible
- oversees all the production process and coordinates all activities to ensure production goals are met
- Plan and effectively organize production schedule with the team to meet production requirements
- Communicate, implement, and enforce safety programs and procedures in the facility
- Develop and review OEE data to improve Availability, Performance and Quality
- Keep inventory level up to standards
- Establish protocols to achieve the company’s short- and long-term objectives
- Oversee daily plant operations and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations
- Monitors and enforces quality control standards are met to deliver the highest quality products to our customers
- Works closely with the team to performs root cause analysis to develop continuous improvement and tracking progress
- Establish goals with the team to improve production and coordinate a plan to meet company expectations
- Anticipates bottlenecks, constraints, identifies risks to take appropriate corrective actions
- Develops and/or approves procedures, initiate deviations, performs appropriate CAPA to meet quality expectations
- Conduct appropriate and effective training with our associates
- Support the team and delegates tasks
- Communicate with the cross- functional team as required
- Responsible for On Time Delivery to meet customer expectations
- Comply with and assure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed
- Responsible for following City, State, and Federal codes and regulations including EPA and OSHA regulations and standards
- Provide regular performance feedback, develop subordinates' skills and encourage growth
- Support the team on all integrations and proposals
- Participates in the hiring and termination process
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical or food processing plant managerial experience along with a passion and drive to lead and motivate a high-performance team are important
- Must comply with Safety protocols, GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training
- 10 years’ management experience; Pharmaceutical/Food/ Dietary Supplement industry
- Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience and desire for making operations run at ever improving levels of performance
- Ability to lead as well as work effectively in a team
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in Spanish would be beneficial, but it is not a requirement
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours
- Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment
