Gansevoort Meatpacking Hotel is currently seeking a Restaurant Floor Manager to join our team!
Summary of Position: Manage daily restaurant operations and assist with menu planning, maintain sanitation standards and assist servers and hosts on the floor during peak business periods.
Primary Functions:
· To serve as a Gansevoort Hotel Group Brand Ambassador and maintain integrity of brand standards and goals.
· Uphold and comply with Gansevoort Standards, Coyle Standards and Gansevoort Core Values at all times.
· Establish and maintain standards of 5-star service.
· Strive to improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance in areas of responsibility.
· Oversee the dining areas, supervise food and beverage service staff in accordance with operating policies that he or she may help establish.
· Provide feedback and coaching to the Team regularly.
· Work with food and beverage staff to ensure proper food presentation and proper food-handling procedures.
· Handle guest complaints in restaurant outlets.
· Schedules periodic food and beverage service staff meetings to ensure correct interpretation of policies and obtain feedback from staff members.
· Ensures product quality and excellent service.
Specific Accountabilities:
· Create a positive team atmosphere among Team Members.
· Maintain records of staff periodic manner and operating costs.
· Treat all Team Members fairly and respectfully.
· Set high standards for appropriate team behavior on shift.
· Maintain budget and employee records, pay bills, monitor bookkeeping records.
· Total receipts and balance against sales, deposit receipts, and lock facility at end of day.
· Ensure new products are executed properly the following roll-out.
· Capable of handling customer disputes with a calm and friendly attitude.
· Show enthusiasm about guest within the restaurant.
· Adaptable dealing with changes/problems (e.g., being short staffed).
· Experience effectively forecasting restaurant needs.
· Shifts priorities and goals as work demands change.
· Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure most important tasks are completed on time.
· Delegate and follow-up effectively.
· Taking ownership of issues or tasks and providing detailed update to the F&B Director.
· Seek, listens and respond to guest feedback.
· Coach team on how to exceed guest expectations.
· Does not blame others; takes accountability for problems.
· Effectively identify restaurant problems through reports and can ideate & execute to resolve the same.
· Proficiency in using computer software to monitor inventory, track staff schedules and pay, and perform other record keeping tasks.
· Proficiency in Point of sale ( POS ) software, inventory software, Restaurant guest satisfactory tracking software etc.
· Assist in planning regular and special event Menu.
· Prepare team schedules and completes weekly payroll.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
· BSc Degree in Business Administration; Hospitality Management or Culinary Schooling is a plus
· Proven work experience of as a Restaurant Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role.
· Proven customer service experience as a manager.
· Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
· Familiarity with restaurant management software.
· Strong leadership, motivational and people skills.
· Customer Service Skills and Communication Skills: you will need to listen to guests needs, provide superb service and communicate in a friendly manner.
· Strong listening skills.
· English language fluency both speaking and writing.
· Attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to multitask and prioritize.
· Ability to function in a noisy, hectic and crowed environment.
· Ability to remain calm under pressure.
· Ability to handle guests’ complaints.

Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to be standing/mobile/stationary for at least 7 hours a day, 35 hours a week.
· Periodically fast paced strides are required to go from one part of property to other.
· Must regularly lift/carry/move 30 pounds of force.
· Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
· Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,500.00 - $75,000.00 per year
