POSITION TITLE: Cook
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the timely preparation of meals with a high-quality presentation. Prepare meals according to approved recipes and preparation guides. Assist with sanitation of the food service areas and the receiving and inventory of supplies and products. Maintains a safe, sanitary environment and follows regulatory guidelines
REPONSIBILITIES:
- Control of food preparation to minimize waste
- Accurate receipt and inventory of supplies and product
- Cleanliness of kitchen and service areas
- Meal presentation (appealing plate, entrée availability and timeliness of preparation)
- Inventory control
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of experience cooking in a restaurant setting
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Posses strong culinary skills
- Knowledge of restaurant style service as related to meal preparation and service and timing
- Ability read and follow recipes
- All general staffing requirements:
- Free of communicable disease
- Able to physically/mentally perform tasks
- Criminal record clearance
- General understanding of the needs of the seniors
- Willingness to learn

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Stands and walks short distances. Frequent lifting of 20 –30 pounds. Bends, squats, kneels, and reaches. Activity level is high.
