Job Description:
The Peer Mentor is part of the Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative (MAICEI) that allows higher education for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. MAICEI provides dual-enrollment opportunities for students ages 18?21 that have intellectual disabilities and are still receiving special education services through their school districts. MAICEI students enroll in courses alongside traditional day students at Fitchburg State University. Course choices will reflect the MAICEI students' long-term employment goals.
Fitchburg State University is seeking Peer Mentors for students enrolled in the MAICEI program.
The Peer Mentor supports student(s) on campus as well as the MAICEI program. As a Peer Mentor, you will work closely with student(s) and the MAICEI Program Coordinator. You will listen to the students' needs and help guide and support them with:
- learning in the classroom

getting around campus

engaging in social activities
-
promote student inclusion of activities at FSU
Job Requirements:
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a check conducted by the Criminal History Systems Board (CORI check), a SORI and a background check satisfactory to the university.
Additional Information:
Part time non-benefited position. $17 per hour for 33 weeks total.
