Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Assist with mobility and transfers of patients
- Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing, such as urine or stool samples
- Administer medications as directed by the nursing staff
- Assist with wound care and dressing changes
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment
- Document patient information and maintain accurate medical records
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience
- Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) in the state of {location}
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as Cerner
- Experience in hospice care, primary care, or dementia care is a plus
- Ability to perform venipuncture and suture removal is preferred but not required
- Experience working with children is a plus
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
