The schedule is Monday-Friday, 40hrs per week with a start time between 6:00am and 7:00am. This position is overtime exempt. The compensation for this position is $65k – 90k DOE/DOQ.

Braun Northwest, Inc. is a manufacturer of custom emergency vehicles for EMS and law enforcement.
Braun Northwest is looking for the right candidate to fill our open Engineer position. This unique position will be a technical expert on our vehicles, but will also need the ability to communicate effectively with customers, and problem solve on the fly.
The engineering department supports regulatory compliance, product testing, specification development, pre-construction customer interface, aluminum module design configuration, and manufacturing processes.
This position supports the engineering department functions and includes the following typical responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and support to project coordinators and production personnel.
- Monitor new equipment and technologies in order to assess and develop product improvements.
- Evaluate and select products to meet specific customer requirements.
- Provide engineering analysis in support of new products, features, testing, and product certification.
- Monitor build practices relative to ambulance standards and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) to ensure consistent compliance.
- Plan and conduct testing required to comply with ambulance standards and FMVSS.
- Provide technical, configuration, and process guidance to AutoCAD designers.
- Support the customer interface by leading pre-construction meetings with customers.
- Specify HVAC configurations including system layout, design calculations, and product selection.
- Complete special engineering projects including research and development of products for electrical, mechanical, and medical sub-systems.
- Calculate vehicle weight distribution and center of gravity to ensure stability and compliance with ambulance standards and vehicle manufacturer guidelines.
- Develop and support quality management and continuous improvement programs.
- Apply information technology to refine and improve business processes

Required Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering.
Required Experience:
Experience in formatting and merging documents using Microsoft Word; creating and using spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel; and use of e-mail, task, and scheduling portions of Microsoft Outlook.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working in a team setting with a variety of professionals including management, engineers, designers, sales, and production employees. Creating, maintaining, and merging documents using Microsoft Access. Demonstrated proficiency using AutoCAD and Inventor programs. Automotive (mechanical or auto body) and or manufacturing experience preferred.
