Definition:
Manager of Behavior Services / BCBA works closely with the VP of Education & Clinical Services to provide specialized expertise to define and characterize behaviors, measure and assess behaviors, select and evaluate interventions and strategies, display and interpret behavior data, and monitor behavior change. Additionally, this position will provide technical, systemic behavior support and training of behavior interventions and strategies for compliance and litigation process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities of this class include but are not limited to:
- Write assessment reports based on initial assessment including behavior support, recommendations, programming strategies and tracking forms;
- Provide relevant program materials, data sheets, behavior support strategies, and material to staff to start up a program and/or continue an ongoing program as needed;
- Collaborate with the VP of Education & Clinical Services, school teams and families in the development of behavior support strategies;
- Conduct functional behavior needs assessments, establish programs and goals for the behavior intervention plans, and monitor accuracy of implementation;
- Develop and ensure implementation of data collection forms;
- Work closely with the VP of Education & Clinical Services on developing and conducting staff training on principles of behavior-related content e.g., data entry and collection, protocols;
- Assist with development of materials for behavior support and skill training;
- Monitor staff competency and performance through collection of fidelity and reliability data;
- Assess staff competencies, and provision of behavior intervention services;
- Monitor staff professional development goals;
- Work closely with teachers and behavior interventionists to ensure proper application of behavior intervention techniques;
- Coordinate and continually collaborate with the VP of Education & Clinical Services and school personnel regularly;
- Communicate all program concerns and collaborate with the VP of Education & Clinical Services to resolve them;
- Keep VP of Education & Clinical Services apprised of all case related issues and outcomes;
- Coordinate, plan, lead, and facilitate weekly multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss client cases and address team member concerns;
- Under the VP’s supervision modify behavior intervention plans and skill programs as needed;
- Problem solve client concerns;
- Coordinate consistent services, and review student progress and performance;
- Support school teams with IEP processes, attend IEP meetings to provide consultation, develop IEP goals, review progress on goals and data; present at IEP meetings;
- Resolve staff issues through collaboration and counseling with staff and VP of Education & Clinical Services;
- Assist in developing of performance evaluation forms for staff;
- Work closely with the VP of Education & Clinical Services to mentor, counsel and discipline staff verbally and in writing;
- Comply with all rules and regulations set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board;
- Performs other duties and responsibilities.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the developmental disabilities;
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of ABA including general behavior assessment and Ethical Standards in Behavior Analysis;
- Understanding of federal and state mandates that guide policies and direct practice of Beacon Day School with clients/families;
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the behavioral impact of developmental disabilities, as well as the cognitive, educational, vocational and social challenges encountered by persons with developmental disabilities;
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others;
- Ability to plan accordingly and meet deadlines;
- Ability to maintain great sense of confidentiality;
- Ability to work collaboratively and professionally;

Minimum Qualifications:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is required;
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university is required;
- Two (2) plus years of experience working with students with disabilities in an educational or clinical setting
