Time Requirement: Full-time, number of contract days to be determined. Some after evening and after school work hours will be required for work with students, meetings, and travel.
Salary Range: $55,000 - $80,000, based on education, verified experience and number of contract days.

Reports to: Director of Student Success
Location: Hybrid (remote and in-person work) with travel required to multiple locations within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Remote work approved upon demonstration of sufficient internet access for virtual interaction with students, dedicated work space, and time available for uninterrupted work. Attendance at extracurricular meetings, recruitment fairs, and miscellaneous events throughout the school year may be required. Must have a valid Kentucky driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, and auto liability insurance to fulfill duties.
Background Checks Required: In accordance with KRS 160.380, individuals employed by WLCS are required to submit to a national and state criminal background check by the Department of the Kentucky State Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation and have a clear CA/N check.
About We Lead CS:
The Kentucky General Assembly established We Lead CS (WLCS), Kentucky's virtual computer science career academy, to increase the Commonwealth's competitiveness in the tech economy and significantly expand Kentucky's capacity to educate and prepare high school students for the tech workforce.
Beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, WLCS will offer Kentucky eighth grade and high school students a jumpstart on computer science degrees in virtual, dual college credit career pathways – in computer programming, cybersecurity, and data science - and the opportunity to prepare for the workforce with many of America's leading tech employers. Students will learn online from their schools with live, virtual instruction and with out-of-class tutoring and support from WLCS teachers and College & Career Coaches.
WLCS College & Career Readiness Coaches will have a passion and excitement for developing innovative, personalized, and virtual learning opportunities for students and will collaborate with the WLCS team to:
· Develop relationships with KY postsecondary organizations and WLCS.
· Collaborate with postsecondary partners and district contacts to obtain SACS accreditation for Dual Credit programs.
· Collaborate with postsecondary partners to obtain approval for WLCS teachers to teach courses for dual credit in their programs.
· Work with KHEAA. district contacts, and postsecondary contacts to ensure WLCS students can access and maximize use of Work Ready Scholarships and other financial assistance.
· Manage work of WLCS Dual Credit Alignment consultant to identify computer science degree options in Kentucky, math prerequisites, and how WLCS credits can transfer for accelerated degree completion.
· Conduct Career Camps in collaboration with WLCS Work Based Learning partners.
· Design and delivery of WLCS College & Career coaching program.
· Work with a postsecondary partner to design and deliver a Peer-to-Peer mentoring program for WLCS students.
· Develop a process for tracking WLCS students’ progress beyond high school graduation.
· Work with WLCS teachers to integrate coaching into tutoring and class time.
· Provide individualized and group coaching in a virtual environment.
· Set career and degree goals, select a major, align math skills to degree requirements.
· Understand how to transfer WLCS dual credit and other dual credit earned to accelerate degree completion and reduce cost of earning degrees.
· Develop profiles of most qualified applicants in WLCS career pathways, assist students in assessing readiness.
· Collaborate with employer partners to develop and facilitate student participation in challenge learning projects and programs.
· Efficiently utilize Learning Management Systems.
· Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the WLCS CEO or WLCS supervisor.
