The Role:
As a member of the Advanced Analytics group, the Associate Director, Commercial Analytics is part of a high performing team that provides actionable, innovative solutions to address key business questions & opportunities. The position requires a person who can work independently with limited supervision and feel comfortable working across a complex matrix environment including interaction with third party vendors and consultants, internal management and current and potential partner companies. Documented expertise in a variety of disciplines is a plus in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide analytics support and recommendations to senior leadership and cross functional partners regarding various initiatives, targeting efforts, analyses and ad-hoc queries.

As “Subject Matter Expert”, interpret key business reports providing business insights/cause effect pertaining to the reported information.

Monitor Performance to understand & impact market dynamics. Identify sub-national analytics opportunities to improve brand performance.

Employ new data sources, creative methodologies & strategies to uncover new business opportunities & insights.

Proactively define and structure analysis to create the brand story that explains the ‘what’ & the ‘why’ with clear & concise recommendations to provide the “so what”.

Synthesize multiple reporting, analyses, and data sources to identify patterns, trends, root causes, opportunities and threats.

Support marketing-mix models to help marketing team optimize tactical spend.

Lead digital & omni-channel analytics, while working closely with digital agencies and leadership.

Provide real-time analytics support to Commercial teams.

Proactively identify solutions to field needs with existing report data. Lead the review of recommended solutions with field leadership for confirmation and development of action plans.
- Interact with field and home office personnel to understand the business information needs, make recommendations and documents necessary reporting requirements.
Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:

Bachelor’s degree required with 6+ years of experience in pharma/biotech space in advanced analytics

Previous oncology experience required; hematology-oncology a plus

Experience working with large complex data and corresponding query/ programming languages such as SAS, R, Python, or SQL plus experience with other big data technology such as Hadoop

Strong knowledge of secondary data sources including syndicated sales, promotional & marketing data, longitudinal patient level data, diagnostic lab data; experience with payer data

Proficiency in manipulating and extracting insights from large longitudinal data sources, such as claims, diagnostic, EMR and other patient level data sets. Expertise in managing and analyzing a range of large, secondary transactional databases is required

Experience with field force analytics, including customer segmentation, targeting, and promotional response measurements

Competency in navigating large volumes of information to synthesize what’s most important and actionable

High degree of creativity and innovation in developing new approaches, processes, and methodologies

Strong organizational skills and time management; ability to manage diverse range of projects simultaneously

Strong interpersonal skills and a consultative mindset, with the ability to develop strong partnerships and influence without authority

Excellent oral and written communication skills; including describing complex data topics in simple terms

Considerable experience with presentation of statistical analysis results to a non-technical audience
