Ward Stone is an active new limestone quarry located in Central Indiana. Ward Stone supplies materials to the heavy highway construction industry for public, commercial, and private sector projects. We take pride in doing high-quality work in a safe manner.
SUMMARY
Responsible for safety and efficiency to support the operations of the quarry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Identify and resolve issues by conducting inspections of all machinery and equipment
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
- Oversee operations and coordinate production
- Inventory control of equipment and supplies
- Successfully implement the Company’s safety and environmental procedures by government agencies including MSHA and the EPA.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of plant management experience at a mining operation
- Welding/fabricating
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of attention to detail
- Maintenance and plant experience is a plus
- Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons
