To aid members in the application of a consumer loans, real estate loans, or revolving credit accounts. Provide input and make suggestions on new and current products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must maintain knowledge of Stark FCU loan policy and procedures. Will be capable of discussing various loan alternatives with members or loan officers.
- Acquire and maintain a complete and thorough knowledge and understanding of all Stark FCU products and rates. Utilize product knowledge, proven sales techniques, scripts, or other documents and direction from management to guide staff and cross sell products.
- Oversees and evaluates products and procedures currently in place and recommends changes as needed. Assist in setting rate and term of lending products.
- Take consumer loan, revolving credit and mortgage applications via direct member contact (phone, person, fax, or internet). Enter data online and review for accuracy.
- Obtain and evaluate credit bureau reports on applicants. Verify debts, estimate monthly payments for all outstanding debts and calculate ratios (secured, unsecured, credit/debit ratios) Determine collateral needs and payment plans.
- Verify employment, income, references, and deposit accounts/liabilities where needed and check documents for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates and signatures.
- Interface with vendors for purpose of obtaining information, lending products or services. i.e.: title searches, credit bureau reports and insurances.
- As needed order appraisals, title work, and credit bureau reports. Verify homeowners insurance, flood insurance and confirm loss payable binder in favor of Stark FCU. Calculate closing costs and provide good faith estimates to the member.
- Refer all requests with necessary information to supervisor that exceeds lending authority guidelines or approval limits for your position.
- Communicate credit decision to member using appropriate forms for acceptance and denial, or cancellation. Send adverse action form if applicable. Provide loan counseling where needed.
- Process, Close, and Disburse loans to members.
- Interact directly with member for car quotations, payoff amounts and other inquiries.
- Review Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI), title exception, skip claim and member claim reports; send appropriate notices to members; process account adjustments, post report and insurance reinstatements, and forward necessary legal notifications; keep insured informed of activities; and assist with insurer intervention.
- Handle Credit Life/Credit Disability claim inquiries from members via phone or mail, act as liaison with insurance company, note on systems and prepare documents as required. Complete monthly Credit Life and Disability Premium report.
- Process GAP Insurance claims, complete monthly sales reports and maintain vendor interaction.
- Perform all functions of VISA program which include: Maintaining knowledge of software, file maintenance of accounts, posting of accounting entries as needed.
- Complete monthly reports consisting of Paid off Loans, 24/7, Employee Incentive Plan, and HIMP.
- Perform vehicle title control, follow up, and recording of liens.
- EOscar Credit Dispute Program – serve as ACDV responder and Notification Viewer
- Maintain member confidentiality by securing all member files and documentation at all times.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma, College Degree or related work experience and 5 years related experience with a consumer, mortgage and/or revolving credit institution.
Experienced in the techniques of member contact and product sales in the lending environment and knowledgeable of all facets of lending processes including consumer, revolving and mortgage lending.
Demonstrated successful management interaction.
Knowledge of current trends and policies in the lending area.
Undertake additional training as needed to effectively carry out job responsibilities.
MATHEMATICAL/OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledgeable of computer system Micorsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
Office equipment, specifically; fax machines, copy machines, computer printers and 10 key adding machines.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Familiar with accounting adjustment concepts, basic accounting principles and ledgers.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Capable of decision making
related to repayment plans using calculation rations and credit report analysis. Familiar with evaluation of statement of net worth, outstanding debts and payroll, and calculation of collateral equity.
