Acacia Academy has a maximum of only 10 students in each class. IEP planning is done collaboratively with an Administrator. Time is spent each day working on student IEP goals with help from an evidence-based computer program. Students are provided both push-in and pull-out related services daily as well as specialized reading instruction. Our teachers are responsible for two different groups of students daily with daily planning times. For over 50 years, we have been providing individualized and differentiated instruction to the special education community in a caring and nurturing environment.

Acacia Academy is a year-round accredited, private therapeutic day school for grades 1-12 and offers a Transition Program for ages 18-22 servicing the Chicago, IL area. The teacher provides special education students with educational programs that will enable them to reach their fullest potential while rebuilding their self-esteem and self-worth. The teacher is responsible for classroom instruction, IEP goals/benchmarks, and other educational goals.
Our campus is unique in that we have a large outdoor Nature Center. The Nature Center can be used to support curriculum as well as for sensory break.

Qualifications
- LBS1 certification required
- Special education background
- Experience in working with people with developmental disabilities
- Proficiency in lesson planning and classroom management
- Familiarity with literacy and math education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in a classroom setting
- Ability to work with students of varying needs and abilities
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $54,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
