Summary: :Join our team with remote work flexibility. Due to tremendous firm growth, we have a nurse paralegal position available in our Atlanta, GA location. We are considering candidates with the desire to work full time for this particular position.
Requirements
The Nurse Paralegal position may require some or all of the following duties:
- Record daily billable time in time and billing system;
- Organize, analyze and maintain medical files;
- Review, organize and prepare medical and event chronologies or summaries of medical care;
- Update chronologies or summaries as new records are received;
- Perform medical research on relevant issues;
- Analyze pharmacy records for consistency of provider and complaint;
- Analyze medical bills for providers and treatments consistent with chief complaints and for the cause of the action;
- Assist attorneys and staff with medical issues, deciphering handwriting, answering questions etc.;
- Locate, contact and/or interview parties, witnesses, and experts regarding their care, treatment and/or opinions;
- Prepare medical records to be provided to experts and maintain a record of the same;
- Prepare materials for meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, including preparation of exhibits and notebooks;
- Prepare and issue Non-Party Requests for medical, pharmacy and/or billing records and ensure all such records are received along with necessary Certification of Authenticity
- Communicate with opposing counsel, co-counsel, clients, insureds, expert witnesses, court personnel, and others, to facilitate progress of cases;
- Communicate with vendors regarding copying, preparation of exhibits, imaging, etc.;
- Any other related tasks that may be assigned by Management or Supervising Attorney(s).
Experience:
- Nurse Paralegal: minimum 3 years' of experience (Required)
- Preparing medical chronologies: minimum 2 years' of experience (Preferred)
- Entering Billable Time: minimum 1 year of experience (Preferred)
