The three core goals of dual language education are:
1) bilingualism and biliteracy,
2) academic proficiency in both program languages
3) socio-cultural competency
These goals are the driving force behind dual language instructional strategies and standards-based curriculum at D65. District 65 has a K-5 Dual Language Two-Way Immersion (TWI) program in 6 of our schools. Learn more about TWI and the Multilingual Department here.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in job-related area
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) for elementary education
- Bilingual endorsement - Spanish
- English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement (preferred)
Compensation and Benefits (2024-2025 school year)
Minimum starting salary with Bachelor’s degree:
$53,479 (includes District paid TRS pension)
Minimum starting salary with Master’s degree:
$58,292 (includes District paid TRS pension)
