Arkansas Brewer’s Guild Executive Director
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic individual to join our team as an Executive Director. This position combines the responsibilities of an executive director and marketing director with a strong focus on event planning and public relations initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of leadership skills, marketing expertise, and a passion for driving organizational growth.
The Arkansas Brewers Guild is a registered 501(c)(6). Since 2003, the Arkansas Brewers Guild has been the official voice of craft beer in Arkansas. It has grown from a five-member Guild into an organization that now includes 38 breweries. The goal of the Guild is to promote and protect, in every lawful manner, the common interests of the members of the brewing industry in Arkansas. The position will be working with of an eight person board made up of craft beer professionals from around the state who meet once a month. Most of the work required for the position can be completed remotely and on your own schedule. Requirements for attendance include a virtual monthly board meeting and any Guild events. The job can grow into a full-time position with funding. This is a contract position
General Duties Include:
- Public Relations and Marketing: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for the Guild and its events, ensuring consistent brand messaging and visibility across all channels.
- Fundraising and Event Planning: Oversee fundraising initiatives and event planning activities, coordinating logistics, and ensuring successful execution to meet revenue goals.
- Membership Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain members, engaging with current and potential members to enhance membership experience and grow the organization.
- Monthly Newsletter: Curate content and design monthly newsletters to update members on Guild activities, achievements, and upcoming events.
- Monthly Meetings with Board: Prepare agendas, facilitate discussions, and provide updates on marketing, fundraising, and membership recruitment efforts during monthly board meetings.
- Legislative Advocacy: Monitor legislative developments and collaborate with state legislators on bills affecting membership interests, advocating for the Guild's objectives as needed.
Additional Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, budget tracking, and financial reporting.
- Email Management: Manage incoming and outgoing communications, responding to inquiries promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in marketing, fundraising, and event planning, preferably in a nonprofit or association setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software and email management tools.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
Most work will be completed remotely, but candidates must have the ability to travel to member breweries, and all guild related events. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions, large events and driving.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
