Job Hours: Typically 9am-5:30pm, as needed for additional events
Education Required: High School Degree; AA preferred
Years of Experience: None; two years, with a focus in security, preferred

Essential Functions

The Campus Supervisor shall stay the course and ensure no mission drift occurs. He/She will consistently Proclaim Jesus Christ through Excellence in Education;

Jesus-proof the ministry, from daily conversations to being a visible witness; from letters to web pages; etc.;

Support, facilitate, and give guidance and suggestions for improvement in CLHS activities related to aspects of our school’s operation;

Be a winsome, Christ-reflecting, and as-accommodating-as-possible contact with and liaison between the many students, faculty, their families, visitors, guests, and other community members on the CLHS campus;

Work in a supportive and coordinating manner with all faculty members, staff members, and departments;

Labor, set an example, and expect performance and work “as unto the Lord” (Col. 3.23);

Proactively seek opportunities to better understand and use technology;

Effectively and appropriately collaborate with faculty and staff members;
-
Model professionalism through attire, punctual attendance, behavior, and safety;
-
Model a Gospel-centered approach in day-to-day relationships with students, faculty and staff members, and parents, and foster such an approach among everyone on campus;

Work in a supportive and coordinating manner with all departments;
-
Display an ability to clearly, professionally, and persuasively articulate Crean Lutheran High School’s positions regarding its philosophy of education, educational and co-curricular programs, intentional Christ-centered and Biblically-based worldview, and unapologetic mission as a Lutheran school serving a constituency consisting of a diverse sampling of the broad Christian family and also the possibility of students and/or families who do not yet know and trust Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior;

Learn school rules, regulations, and procedures and apply them in a variety of situations;
-
Develop rapport with students, parents, faculty members, and staff members; understand and follow both oral and written directions;
-
Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports; maintain filing and record keeping systems including computer systems;
-
Learn and use a variety of computer software programs including word processing, spreadsheets, and other programs;
-
Operate a variety of standard office machines and equipment; effectively communicate both orally and in writing;
-
Be the holder of, or be willing to promptly acquire a California Driver’s License (required by the first day of service), a Bureau of Security and Investigative Services - State of California Guard Card, and a valid First Aid Certificate issued by the American Red Cross;

Complete, or have completed, Security Officer Training course pursuant to California Education Code 38001.5 and 72330.5;

Patrol and supervise assigned school campus areas to ensure a safe and orderly environment on the school campus;
-
Assist in the enforcement of school rules and regulations;
-
Supervise the activities of students on campus and in surrounding areas;
-
Report misuse of facilities, vandalism, and other unauthorized activities;
-
Remain on campus for the duration of the shift;
-
Maintain constant two-way radio contact with the Director of Supervision, Director of Health and Safety, Dean’s Office personnel, and school office personnel;
-
Supervise and patrol designated areas of the campus, including grounds, classrooms, parking lots, eating areas, restrooms and locker rooms in order to enforce school rules with regard to safety and student behavior;

Execute a variety of documents, including, but not limited to, daily activity reports, supervision reports, parking violations, etc.;

Detain and question students who are out of class to determine the nature of their activities;

Question visitors to the campus to make sure they are properly authorized;

Investigate complaints; report serious violations of school rules and report suspicious or unauthorized activities to the Director of Supervision, Director of Health and Safety and the Dean’s Office;

Enforce applicable laws, rules and policies, may administer first aid, open and close safety/security gates, and assist law enforcement as needed;

Refer parking violations to the Dean’s Office;

Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff and community; communicate with students and staff to provide and receive information regarding school activities;

Direct traffic in the school parking lot, especially during drop-off and pick-up times for students and parents;
-
Assist in the crosswalk duties in front of the school to stop vehicles so that students can enter and exit campus;
Physical Requirements
Frequently stands and walks; ability to lift up to 100 pounds and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal and written communications; use of sports equipment. Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephone, visual ability to read.
Working Environment
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment and employee may be exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and more. Extensive contact with staff, parents, and students. Frequent interruptions. Office, field, and school campus environment. May handle cash transactions.
