DESCRIPTION ( DEFINITION & DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS):
Performs a variety of secretarial duties requiring independent judgment and provides assistance to the
Vice -Principal: and other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (EXAMPLE OF DUTIES):
Process and maintain appropriate student attendance reports and correspondence.
Process discipline notices and suspension forms and track Saturday school.
Process and approve free and reduced lunch applications.
Operate and maintain the phone calling system to check daily attendance.
Process purchase orders and maintenance work orders.
Process special education letters and reports.
Maintain special education files.
Maintain Student Assistance Team correspondence files.
Maintain and process staff development correspondence and files.
Process documents relating to curriculum development.
Maintain categorical program activities.
Maintain and issue student lockers.
Maintain file of emergency cards.
Responsible for school key control.
Receive visitors and assist students at counter.
Issues admit slips to students following absences and maintain files of notes from parents.
QUALIFICATIONS ( MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):
Knowledge of:
Computers, office machines, and general office operation.
Being courteous, confidential, and able to develop positive relations with students and staff.
Ability to:
Incorporated within one or more of the previously mentioned performance responsibilities, which are essential functions of this job description, are the following essential physical requirements:
Ability to work at a desk or at a chest high counter.
Ability to see for purposes of reading printed matter and computer screens.
Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
Ability to speak so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation.
Digital dexterity to operate office equipment.
Training and Experience:
Basic accounting practices, standard office practices, and word processing.
Typing at 50 wpm.
Office, accounting, and word processing experience appropriate for this position.
Satisfactory score on District screening test
