The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in providing patient care in a medical office setting. The Medical Assistant will perform administrative and clinical tasks to support the work of physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering medications as directed
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and maintaining patient records
- Prepare exam rooms for patient visits, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available
- Assist with medical procedures, such as minor surgeries and diagnostic tests
- Provide patient education, including explaining procedures and treatments, and answering questions about medications and medical conditions
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and blood draws
- Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment
- Order and maintain medical supplies and equipment
- Adhere to all medical office policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a medical assistant training program
- Certification as a medical assistant
- Experience working in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
