ROLE:
Ensure proper maintenance of the resort through fulfillment of guest requests and on-going preventative maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for the proper maintenance of the resort pools & spas, and that the pools are always clean and in good operating condition.
· Operates, repairs, maintains, and cleans mechanical equipment for pool operation including water filtration and chemical purification systems, intake and outlet valves, chemical feeders, pumps, compressors, seals, vacuum equipment and chlorine metering devices.
· Regulates water temperature and levels.
· Operates and maintains pool heater system and participates in major repairs.
· Insures non-mechanical pool equipment meets code specifications.
· Coordinates walk-through inspections of pool facilities and takes necessary corrective action.
· Monitors pool operations and ensures sanitation codes are met.
· Properly handles toxic chemicals.
· Sanitizes swim decks and acid-washes pool, decks, gutters, and filters. Also vacuums pool floors and replaces underwater lights.
· Submits water samples for health department testing. Also tests and maintains pool chemical levels, tests and record services safety equipment, complies with health and safety codes.
· Maintains all storage areas, shops and mechanical areas in a clean, safe and secure manner, reporting to the Engineer Manager with any corrective actions that need to be taken.
· Keeps Engineering Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance so that prompt corrective action can be taken.
· Removes leaves and other debris from the surface of the water using nets, and clearing intake covers of debris.
· Inspects, cleans and replaces loose or damaged tile.
· Cleans and repairs the pools filtration systems, to include backwashing, all filter baskets, skimmer baskets and skimmer cover lids.
· Cleans bottoms and sides of pools using underwater vacuum cleaners, hoses, brushes, detergents, acid solutions and sanders.
· Responsible for completion of jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management, maintain logbooks.
· Follow all Safety and Security procedures to protect and ensure the safety of our guests, employees and assets.
· Maintain a flexible work schedule based on business needs.
- Working knowledge of a 2-way radio.
- Perform all other job requests as assigned by supervisors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a Nevada Pool Operator's certificate or be willing to obtain the in-house CPO license within the first days of employment.
- Must have effective oral and written English communication skills.
- Six months to one year experience in resort maintenance preferred.
- Must have good knowledge of or willing to learn and become an expert on safety, and health codes for public swimming pools; safety procedures for storing, handling, and using toxic chemicals.
- Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects.
- Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to bend, kneeling and stretching most of the working day.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to work in areas containing dust, second hand smoking, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibration and air quality.
- Must be able to operate equipment.
- Must be able to frequently crouch, push, pull, squat, kneel and for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 to 70 pounds constantly.
