Newman Sanitary Gasket, a leader in high-performance sealing solutions for the Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, and Dairy industries, is seeking a talented Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing team. In this unique position, you will leverage your technical knowledge of O-rings, gaskets, and diaphragms to provide exceptional customer service, drive sales growth, and contribute to exciting new product development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and application expertise to potential and current customers by identifying their needs, and recommending products from Newman Sanitary Gasket’s catalog as a solution or creating and presenting new designs to fit their needs.
- Develop and present technical presentations that effectively communicate the benefits of our products and capabilities.
- Conduct customer site visits and propose solutions tailored to unique customer specific challenges.
- Utilize AutoCAD to create or modify CAD models and dimensional drawings.
- Generate qualified sales leads, nurture client relationships, and close sales opportunities for our products.
- Collaborate with the team at Newman Sanitary Gasket to develop and execute strategic sales initiatives focused on our products.
- Assist the product development team to identify market needs and trends.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable insights, and contribute to the launch of new or improved solutions. This may involve reverse engineering competitor products to understand their strengths and weaknesses.
- Provide sustaining engineering support, to ensure the ongoing performance and reliability of existing Newman Sanitary Gasket products and tooling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical sales or applications engineering role, preferably within the sealing industry.
- Strong understanding of sealing technology and best practices, particularly for O-rings, gaskets, and diaphragms.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating, revising, and interpreting CAD models and technical drawings of mechanical parts and assemblies.
- The ability to reverse engineer parts and assemblies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for exceeding customer expectations and achieving sales goals
- A demonstrated ability to think creatively and solve problems.
- Ability to travel as needed.
