Reporting to the SVP of Human Resources and a member of the Human Resources leadership team for Menzies Aviation in the US, the Director of Talent Acquisition & Retention is a high impact and influential role. This role will structure, develop, and maintain a high-performing talent acquisition team that attracts top talent and strengthens a positive, mission-focused culture.
Primary Accountabilities and Duties:
- Plan, develop and implement strategy for recruitment and retention across North America to ensure that staffing levels are met
- Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of applicant tracking
- Evaluate weekly staffing numbers to ensure that it is in line with business needs.
- Ensure that all recruitment and retention policies, processes and procedures are aligned to Menzies Aviation and industry standards
- Successfully lead and set the vision, strategy, and roadmap for talent acquisition at Menzies Aviation
- Partner with leadership team to forecast hiring needs based on business growth plans
- Creation of talent acquisition Key Performance Indicators dashboard to key track of department metrics and provide visibility to internal customer base
- Oversee all stages of candidate experience including application, interviews, and communication, and implement improvement measures
- Oversee onboarding process in coordination with team of onboarding specialists and operation leaders
- Build, foster and manage external partnerships with education institutions, professional associations, job boards to build talent pipelines for current and future job opening, and develop a network of potential future hires
- Collaborate with Compensations & Benefits, and Talent Development Directors to develop and maintain effective programs and policies for employee retention, promotion, and engagement
- Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies that position Menzies Aviation to effectively compete for talent
- Create scalable, consistent best hiring practices, processes, and tools to deliver business results
- Evaluate and optimize paid partnerships with key social media and other innovative and proven technology vendors to ensure Menzies Aviation is realizing maximum value
- Lead, develop and energize the Talent Acquisition team
- Understand the highly competitive talent landscape and successfully position Menzies Aviation as a preferred employer evidenced by improved hiring and retention results
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Strong report writing and record keeping ability
- Must have advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Must have ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communications and strong interpersonal communications
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently
- Experienced Talent Acquisition leader with 7-10 years of progressive talent acquisition and leadership experience.
- Previous experience building and leading Talent Acquisition teams as well as acting as a strategic recruiting advisor to senior leaders. Ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Innovative thinker with the ability to bring new ideas and approaches, practices, and solutions to ensure best in class talent acquisition capabilities. High energy and drive with a vision for what is possible.
- Highly effective at developing and implementing talent acquisition and sourcing strategies and priorities while gaining internal alignment and support with all key stakeholders.
- Experience in field organizations, hourly workforce, warehouse, and high-volume talent attraction. Experience within aviation, cargo, or ground handling a plus.
- Results-driven individual committed to exercising a high degree of integrity, confidentiality, judgement, and the ability to inspire trust and confidence with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels as well as working cross-functionally with senior management within the organization
- Possess a continuous improvement and process mindset, ability to use data and insights to support decision making. Have a track record of standardizing talent acquisition processes for efficient and effective delivery.
