The Grants Coordinator is a critical member of the Leadership Team who oversees a portfolio of government, corporate, and private foundation grants. This position has primary responsibility for ensuring all opportunities are strategically leveraged to their fullest extent to support the work of our organization. The Grants Coordinator position reports to our Executive Director and works full-time, on-site at our office located in Salem.
Other responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of letters of inquiry, grant applications, application amendments, reports, and other items as requested by funders.
- Provides writing and editing of grant requests and reports, packages, and sends out proposals.
- Collects and prepares documents as part of grant applications and reports, including budgets, timelines, expense reports, biographies, and expected outcomes.
- Produces correspondence regarding grant administration, including updates, queries, cover letters, renewal letters, reports, and updates.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least three years of experience in writing successful proposals or grants with a preference for both private foundation and government grant experience.
- Understanding of and ability to communicate the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence.
- Must have exemplary writing and editing skills, be creative and collaborative, with an enthusiasm for the mission of CHS.
- Must have excellent communications skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with all organization stakeholders.

- Must be organized, pay attention to detail and deadlines, and manage projects independently.
- Must have excellent project management skills and enthusiasm for collaboration.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership, stakeholders, funders, and the general public, top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Must be adept at using various applications including project management, graphics, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use of database software. Experience with Exceed/Arreva Donor Database (or equivalent donor database) is helpful.
