INDOOR RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE
The Inside Retail Sales Associate is a customer service position inside the Garden Center. Retail Sales Associates have a strong desire to assist customers in fulfilling their gardening efforts. They enjoy helping customers and each other succeed, are confident and approachable, good at keeping busy, and thrive in a team environment. The position requires experience and knowledge of horticultural plants, including their maintenance, diseases, and pests. They are able to instruct customers on the proper selection and use of nursery and gardening products, including tools, fertilizers, chemicals and soil amendments.

JOB DUTIES * this is primarily an indoor retail position from March through the end of July, then outdoor work may be asked for*
- Promptly greet all customers
- Help customers with friendliness and respect
- Answer telephone and answer customer questions
- Provide consultation and advice to customers
- Use POS to process sales quickly, accurately and efficiently
- Stocking and display of the retail store
- Complete all necessary paperwork, such as sales orders, time cards, etc.
- Water, prune, scout for insects and diseases in all plant material in the retail store
- Keep the retail store and all work stations clean
- Follow all safety regulations and policies
- Other duties as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work indoors in temperatures over 90 degrees and under 60 degrees
- Ability to lift 20-40 pounds consistently throughout each day
- Good knowledge of plant material including health, quality issues, disease and pests of landscape and ornamental plants
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to represent O’Donal’s in a courteous and professional manner at all times
- Willingness to work long hours, including weekend, when needed
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple tasks
- Experience in a retail nursery preferred
- POS experience a must
- Associates Degree in Horticulture or equivalent education/work experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
