Qualifications: Parts room personnel must:
1. Be familiar with aviation equipment/tooling/parts & materials. - Familiarity of these items comes with personal experience. This will also be learned through parts room experience. Knowing what technicians typically require for job completion can facilitate smooth taskings requested by our customers.
2. Be able to understand, read & write English. - Communication with technicians, as well as our customers, is paramount for parts room personnel. - Parts room personnel report to the Maintenance Manager. This position is responsible for managing the stockroom including the parts and materials within. Parts room personnel also responsible for the following:
1. Ensuring equipment/tooling/parts & materials are organized and in working order. - Parts room personnel will be proficient with Asset Tiger. We use this program to list, and track equipment/tooling that are both calibrated, and uncalibrated. Inspection intervals, equipment identification (part & serial number, if required) are listed for each piece of equipment. Each piece is tracked by a DCJet Services asset number and will have an individual page on Asset Tiger listing the information, photos, and certifications of the equipment. - When a technician removes a tooling or consumable item from the parts room, the “Parts Room Check Out List” must be filled out in its entirety. This will ensure that all items are returned upon task completion.
2. Ensuring equipment/tooling/parts & materials allocated are sufficient in quantity for the work of the repair station. - We have multiples of some pieces of equipment, consumable items, and various parts. While some items will be out for calibration, others will be available. Also, this is to facilitate maintenance on different aircraft at the same time.
3. Conducting the replenishment of parts & materials. - Parts room personnel will perform monthly inventories on consumable items and small hardware items, but if the parts room is running low on an item at any time, a re-order will be necessary.
4. Ensuring equipment/tooling/parts & materials are readily available for use. - Parts room personnel must monitor calibration dates on all pieces of calibrated equipment to ensure items are always available for use. We do this via Asset Tiger.
5. Ensuring the parts room is always clean and organized. -Dirt, trash, and dust are discouraged around calibrated test equipment.
6. Ensuring shelf-life items are managed and time limits are not exceeded. - A properly maintained “Shelf-Life” excel document is required to ensure life-limited consumables do not expire on our shelves.
7. Ensuring humidity and temperature sensitive materials are stocked and monitored in a manner not to exceed range limits. - Parts room personnel will review the room temperature/humidity gauge each morning and document the Monthly Temperature/Humidity Log. Wedo this since some of our chemicals have storage requirements based on temperature and/or humidity.
8. Ensuring incoming/outgoing materials/parts are properly inspected/ packaged/ stocked/ shipped in proper manners. - All aircraft parts that have been classified as “used” or “new/not used” will be documented on a separate MX-10 Receiving Record that has been deemed for aircraft parts only. NetJets parts will also be recorded on an Excel spreadsheet prior to return. - Upon receipt of any consumable items, new tooling, new parts that we ordered etc, parts room personnel will properly fill out the MX-10 Receiving Record. -Parts room personnel will inspect any items we order for serviceability, expiration date, and certification. Outgoing parts that are being returned will be properly tagged and packed before return shipment.
9. Ensuring the segregation of parts is complied with. - Parts room personnel must ensure all consumable items, hardware and tooling are stored in their own, properly marked storage cases or bins. Flammable items must be stored in a properly marked cabinet.
