Great American P&C IT Services is currently seeking an Internet of Things (IoT) Product Owner to join an evolving Emerging Technology Organization! This is a rare opportunity to get into a group on the “ground floor” and help shape the way GAI delivers cutting edge technology solutions to our business units. The IoT Product Owner is responsible for orchestrating IoT opportunities through supporting and assisting to prioritize a product backlog. You will be an IoT Champion interacting with GAI business units and shared service partners to understand potential opportunities, up front requirements/analysis and to support IoT pilot initiatives through data analysis and reporting. While this role is primarily execution focused, there will be a strategic component to help define & influence where “the puck is going” as it pertains to the latest IoT technology.

Assists a cross-functional team to define a product vision and strategy, product roadmap, and requirements for success.

Collaborates with key stakeholders to define business objectives, facilitate sprint activities, and create and communicate requirements that translate business needs into strategic business and technology initiatives.

Ensures a customer-centric and data-driven approach to identify and advocate for iterative deliverables with measurable outcomes.

Collaborates with key stakeholders on user adoption strategies and progress on product adoption.

Determine how the business needs will be satisfied via design, build and test by the Execution Team

Serve as a data liaison assisting to develop and support the IoT data strategy and vision

Demonstrate insurance domain expertise to develop IoT use cases across the insurance value chain

Clearly articulate the value proposition of IoT initiatives to senior leadership and business stakeholders

Conduct systems analysis to define applicability of integrating new data sources through the enterprise

Creates and maintains training materials as needed to assist in product adoption.

Monitors usage, assesses user data, and identifies opportunities to increase usage and improve user experience.

Creates and maintains an actionable and prioritized backlog.

Lead technical research efforts around IoT and assist team initiatives around organizational technical literacy

Participates in or facilitates all agile ceremonies (e.g., standups, planning, retro, etc.).

Previous experience in the insurance industry

5+ years in experiment design and reporting

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, especially excel

Proficiency in Python

Understanding of data at scale within the insurance ecosystem

Demonstrated success partnering with business SMEs and Leadership

Working knowledge of Agile Frameworks, preferably Scrum and/or SAFe

Ability to gain broad understanding of overall software delivery roadmaps and related strategies

Genuine curiosity and passion for all things technology in order to apply the industry trends into an Enterprise environment
