Job Summary:
As the Transportation Coordinator, you will play a critical role in creating schedules, overseeing staffing, and managing the utilization of our expanding fleet of ambulances. You will be responsible for ensuring that all shifts are fully staffed, resources are optimally allocated, and operational efficiency is maximized.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Scheduling and Staffing
- Develop and maintain weekly/monthly schedules for ambulance crews.
- Coordinate with dispatch and HR to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Manage staffing levels to meet fluctuating demand and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews of staffing patterns to optimize crew deployment and minimize overtime.
Fleet Utilization
- Monitor daily operations to maximize the utilization of the ambulance fleet.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure fleet readiness.
- Implement strategies to improve vehicle allocation efficiency based on geographical demand.
Performance Management
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheduling, staffing, and fleet utilization.
- Analyze data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Provide regular reports to management on operational performance and recommend improvements.
Training and Development
- Oversee the training and onboarding process for new crew members.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff.
- Facilitate ongoing training programs to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Actively solicit business from new customer accounts and solidify relationships with regional healthcare networks to grow volumes at full utilization.
- Help to maintain the company CRM and internal systems.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Implement quality assurance protocols to maintain high standards of patient care and service delivery.
- Address any compliance issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
Leadership
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among crews and support staff.
- Lead by example with a focus on professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the department.
