Role Summary
Newly created due to growth we are seeking a Senior Assistant Underwriter to come and join our Commerical Casualty division within the United States.
Role Accountabilities
- Assisting in the administration processes of an underwriting function.
- Liaising and collaborating with other departments within the Aventum Group.
- Preparing and distributing reports and data analysis.
- Assisting in audit preparations and file reviews.
- Identifying system and process improvement opportunities.
- Adherence to all legal, regulatory and compliance requirements of the role.
- Reviewing risk submissions and assisting in the underwriting process.
- Attending/supporting client, broker and supplier meetings and events.
- Assist in the development of new products, schemes and deals.
- Support the achievement of the division’s Gross Written Premium ambitions.
- Assist in maintaining a profitable portfolio within agreed loss ratio parameters.
- Actively drive personal technical development and seek opportunities to widen the professional network and positive impact of Rokstone Commerical Casualty.
Role Requirements
- Over 10 years of underwriting experience working within Commerical Casualty.
- Experience in supporting an insurance underwriting division.
- Dealing with insurance brokers and underwriters.
- Having industry qualifications.
- Existing relationships within the Commerical Casualty broking market.
- Willingness to develop own skills, and reputation and further build the reputation of the Aventum Group and Rokstone Commerical Casualty division.

- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills across all methods of communication
- Able to quickly adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
- Work collaboratively and thoughtfully on tasks spanning multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to build trust and rapport through acting with integrity and professionalism.
- Able to work effectively under little supervision whilst maintaining attention to detail and retaining responsibility for the work performed.
