DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK
This is work that requires the ability to maintain a clean environment in apartment buildings, offices, common areas and grounds. This work will be physically performed in a range of environmental conditions. Work is usually performed without close supervision but may be reviewed upon completion. Assignments are received either orally or in the form of written orders from the Property Manager or by communication through the Lead Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Technician for the assigned area. Work requires the thorough knowledge and use of all Authority tools and equipment required to complete assigned tasks. This position is supervised by the Director of Maintenance for the agency and reports directly to the Property Manager.
EXAMPLES OF WORK (Illustrative Only)
- Performs duties with an eye for detail to buildings, grounds, and equipment that meets or exceeds quality standards and schedule.
- Responsible for general upkeep of all equipment and tools used to perform assigned tasks.
- Maintains a clean environment in assigned apartment buildings, offices, common areas and grounds.
- Performs dusting and vacuuming. Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, including scouring of toilets and sinks. Cleaning common areas. Sweeping and mopping. Washing windows. Emptying garbage containers and recycling bins. Replacing paper, sanitizer, light bulbs, switch plate and outlet covers, batteries and soap products. Litter pick-up.
- Floor care to include stripping, washing and waxing.
- Grounds work to include litter pick up, grass mowing, raking, trimming and snow removal.
- Responds to Call Outs, Call Backs or Overtime Requests
- Performs related work as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS OF WORK
- Possesses valid State of Maine motor vehicle operator's license and clean driver history. Must be insurable through our automotive insurance provider.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to pass the physical exam conducted by our physicians.
- Working knowledge of the hazards and applicable safety precautions in construction and building maintenance.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, residents and the public.
- Working and technical knowledge of the methods, best practices, tools and materials used in building trades, mechanical systems, facilities maintenance and repair work to undertake examples for work described above.
Computer proficiency with Smart Phones or other handheld devices.

Pay: $19.25 per hour
