Job Description:
Description: The Supervisor Lab Client Services provides day-to-day management of the Client Services department within JPS. This role will provide leadership in the daily coordination of the in-house and referral work generated by JPS. Develops and maintains systems to ensure both rapid and responsive service is provided by the Pre-Analytics department to both internal and external customers.
Typical Duties:
Ensure adequate processes are in place for the current patient cohort and plan for future expansion for the Pre-Analytics Department.
Evaluate current business processes and systems and lead change management if required.
Hire and ensure appropriate training for new staff.
Supervise direct reporting staff according to overall company policy.
Determine staffing requirements.
Prioritize, research, and respond to requests for information, and specimen requirements associated with testing in a timely manner.
Facilitate successful day-to-day operation of the Client Services Department to include scheduling and general supervision of all tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Perform Laboratory and Hospital Information Systems (LIS and HIS) computer functions necessary to complete pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic processes, and other tasks as needed.
Solve and follow through to conclusion any matters or concerns that arise within the department.
Monitor staff performance including performance reviews.
Formulate department/unit policies and practices.
Assist in the implementation of the quality management system, including corrective and preventive actions.
Liaise directly with internal and external customers regarding departmental processes.
Ensure all activities within the scope of service continuously meet or exceed established regulatory standards.
Support the Quality Assurance Manager in the investigation of incidents and subsequent follow up with clients, when necessary.
Complies with all Federal, State, and Local Regulatory requirements related to health care delivery.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology or other related health fields from an accredited college or university.
- 2 plus years of clinical operation experience in the applicable specialty (e.g. Client Services, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology/Serology).
- 1 plus years of leadership experience.
OR-
High School Diploma or GED

In lieu of degree, 5 plus years of clinical laboratory bench experience to include work experience conducting pre-analytical processes in a laboratory setting using knowledge of the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLIA) 88.
- 1 plus years of experience supervising, managing or leading teams, staff or groups.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
- Phlebotomy Certification from an accredited college or university.
OR
- Clinical Laboratory Assistant Certification from ASCP or AMT.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related science field from an accredited college or university.
- 4 plus years of clinical laboratory experience.
- 2 plus years of management or supervisory experience.
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
- ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).
