Job Description
We are currently seeking a Medical Billing & Insurance A/R Specialist for our Revenue Cycle Department. This is a full-time position, M-F 8:30-5:00.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for corresponding with both commercial and government health insurance payers to address and resolve outstanding insurance balances and coding denials in accordance with established guidelines and requirements. The position also conducts follow-up process activities through phone calls, online processing, fax and written correspondence, working queues to organize work efficiently. Must be able to communicate effectively with payer representatives in order to support denial resolutions. Makes necessary corrections in the practice management system to ensure correct reimbursement is received and documents patient accounts on all actions taken.
Required Education and Licensure:
Associate's Degree
CPCpreferred
Other Requirements:
- 3-5 years medical billing experience in an office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS coding and CCI edits
- Familiarity with insurance companies processes and nuances in regard to claim adjudication
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail Oriented
- Ability to work independently
- Customer Service Skills a Must
- Experience working in Cardiology preferred
