Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with patients to help them regain independence and improve their ability to perform daily activities. You will assess patients' needs, develop treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions to promote optimal functioning and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve motor skills, coordination, strength, and endurance
- Teach patients adaptive techniques and strategies to enhance independence in daily activities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and assistive devices
- Stay current with advancements in occupational therapy techniques and research
Skills:
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to occupational therapy
- Experience working with geriatric population is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy and its relation to functional movement
- Familiarity with protocols and procedures
- Excellent case management skills for coordinating patient care
- Ability to provide effective resident education on occupational health practices
