Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this candidate will be to assist coaching and directing DSU’s intercollegiate swimming/diving program (includes management in the areas of scholarship, practice, recruiting, etc); assist in coordinating schedules with Aquatics Director to ensure pool safety and maintenance; develop and market new programs to increase utilization of Aquatics Center and meet the needs of DSU and the community; implement, update and enforce emergency action plans for aquatic facility; develop competition schedules and arrange team travel for swim/dive teams; oversee academic advising and monitor academic progress of student athletes; oversee routine cleaning of the aquatic area and equipment inventory; organize and implement promotional and fundraising activities in support of Swim Program.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. American Red Cross, YMCA or equivalent IT certifications in Lifeguard Training, Water Safety, Water Exercise, and CPR/FA/AED with instructor certification. Certified Pool Operator with knowledge of state and national health and safety standards and regulations associated with the operation of a public swimming pool. Coaching experience preferably at the college level. Experience in pool facility management.
Salary
Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
