Responsibilities:
NYITs College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks temporary leave replacement for Associate Director of Wellness Services located at the Long Island (Old Westbury) campus. This temporary, part-time position is scheduled to be filled from July 2024-November 2024, with flexibility in hours, weekday schedule, with hybrid and remote work options. This position will work in collaboration with the other NYITCOM Associate Director of Counseling and Wellness and report to the Director of Counseling and Wellness.

Primary role is to provide individual counseling (virtual and in-person) and assist medical students in identifying and managing personal issues that might affect their academic performance and interfere with their ability to focus on coursework, meet deadlines, or prepare adequately for exams.

Maintain timely department documentation (progress notes, case management notes, monthly statistics, etc.)

Contribute to programming and workshops related to orientation, mental health related topics and other topics of interest to medical students.
- Resource for faculty and staff regarding medical students of concern.

Provide crisis intervention, including hospitalizations and on call responsibilities.

Implement wellness policies and procedures at the medical school developed by NYIT Counseling and Wellness department.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree and NYS Licensure in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC) or in Social Work (LMSW/LCSW) is required.
Excellent interpersonal, technological (ie:Microsoft Office products, EMR platforms, Zoom), organizational, oral and written communication skills, as well as able to work with a diverse student population is required.
Must be detailed oriented, self- motivated, able to work independently and available to work with a flexible schedule of day and evening hours.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.
Minimum Salary: USD $33.00/Yr. Maximum Salary: USD $35.00/Hr.
