J.L. Moore is a commercial general contracting and design-build firm located in Strongsville, Ohio. Founded in 1973, we provide construction services to local, regional, and national clients. Position Overview:
Superintendents at J.L. Moore are key members of our project teams who have a proven track record of successfully completing commercial construction projects. Project types include renovations, tenant buildouts, and new construction. For this position, travel is required, and locations will be determined upon hire.
Key Responsibilities:
· Project Management: Oversee project scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation.
· Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
· Quality Control: Monitor workmanship and materials for compliance and standards.
· Coordination: Manage activities between subcontractors and clients with an organized systematic approach.
· Communication: Act as primary liaison between teams, clients, and management using effective written and oral communication skills.
· Problem-Solving: Examine, address and resolve construction-related issues promptly by analyzing multiple viewpoints.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project activities and changes.
· Leadership: Provide direction and motivation to the construction team with a tactful mature demeanor.
· Client Relations: Foster positive relationships and address client concerns.
Key Requirements:
· Minimum 5 years of experience in the commercial construction industry.
· Ability to travel to various job sites depending on job location.
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
· A highly motivated, self-starting individual that is goal oriented.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
· Excellent attention to detail with an emphasis placed on quality.
· Clear, accurate, and concise written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to meet deadlines.
· Demonstrated abilities in planning, delegation, problem-solving, and decision making.
· Demonstrated expertise in coaching, motivating and providing supportive leadership.
· Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on teamwork, customer service, and safe working practices.
