Salary: $55,224.00 - $74,376.00 The salary does not include an additional an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Peer Counselor (PS3) to join our team. This role involves advocating for increased access to peer support, mentoring, and leadership development opportunities for youth with behavioral health needs. The Opportunity:
As a Certified Peer Counselor, you will:
- Develop and deliver peer-focused future planning and reentry support programs.
- Coach youth and young adults in skillful self-advocacy and preparation for re-entry.
- Provide information about peer-focused programs and services to residents, staff, volunteers, contractors, and the community.
- Share your recovery story to inspire and support positive goals and behaviors in youth.
- Develop and deliver leadership and self-advocacy programs.
- Collaborate with young people on residents' rights awareness.
- Discover and utilize culturally responsive tools and activities to educate and build rapport with youth.
Required Qualifications:
- Four years of experience in a related field, OR a Bachelor’s degree in social services.
- Two years of experience in a counseling role.
- Certification as a Peer Support Counselor from the Department of Health OR commitment to achieve certification within the first 6 months of employment.
Additional qualifications (preferred):
- Experience adapting treatment and recovery materials to reduce stigma and increase cultural sensitivity.
- Experience working with communities of color and LGBTQ individuals.
- Experience with individuals and families involved in the criminal justice system.
- Experience in developing and delivering peer/mentoring training and providing professional consultation.
