Summary:
The Warehouse Associate will unload, unpack, check and store merchandise or material within the warehouse as well as select, check, pack and ship product or material to customers.
Responsibilities:
Receive product into warehouse from trailers or ocean containers.
Unpack and check product against receiving documents and packing slips and store in warehouse in appropriate location for easy identification and retrieval. Ensure that receiving documentation is accurate and complete.
Quickly and accurately pick inventory to fill customer requisitions and orders. Ensure accuracy and count of products selected.
Properly package and mark shipment.
Accurately address and process shipments capturing mode, weight, other charges and tracking number.
Properly stage products and stretch wrap to ensure damage free shipments.
Complete accurate bills of lading and any other documentation required.
Down stock products to replenish forward pick locations.
Perform all duties for internal warehouse transfers.
Accurately utilize WMS and radio frequency technology in all warehouse functions.
Accurately perform weekly cycle counts.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness for safety and appearance.
Report all maintenance or safety issues requiring corrective action.
Perform start-up procedures when using equipment.
Regular and dependable attendance in line with company business hours and policy is an essential requirement of this position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a consistent basis, and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
Able to safely utilize hand trucks, carts, conveyor and other handling equipment.
Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and read and write in English.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Must be detail oriented and have a high sense of urgency.
Must be flexible and willing to work mandatory overtime as needed.
Comfortable working in a team environment and able to work alone and with others.
Ability to use computerized manifest and shipping systems.
Ability to use radio frequency technology to perform daily functions.
Experience & Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Warehouse experience required.
Fork truck experience required. Fork truck license preferred.
Experience using Radio Frequency technology (TECSYS 7.5) a plus.
Physical Activities and Demands:
This position is an active position that requires a medium level of lifting: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
