Role Description
CareView Communications is currently accepting resumes for a Field Technician to install and maintain the CareView System within various healthcare facilities in the Eastern Region of the US. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills, be able to multitask in fast paced environment and have excellent written and verbal communications skills. The candidate should also have a strong knowledge of Ethernet networks to include punch-down panels, switches, terminations, CAT6 & CATV plant maintenance and installations.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Ability to work with onsite corporate technical support to diagnose and repair issues in the field.
- Participate in an “on-call” support rotation which may include 24/7 response time requirements.
- Comply with industry standards, safety rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Availability to travel to hospital locations on an ongoing basis, out-of-state travel will be required.
- Resolves assigned open service tickets and provides regular updates with ETA’s.
- Tracks and records daily expenses using company provided expense report systems.
- Updates all company logs (Ex. Operations Schedule, Equipment Inventory, etc.)
- Responsible for maintaining an inventory of equipment per the assigned area and utilizing the company provided return equipment form to return bad equipment to the warehouse.
- Attends weekly conference calls with supervisors and managers.
- Install network and server equipment in data centers and communication rooms including cabling, power, and system cooling.
- Help troubleshoot and analyze existing hospital WIFI networks including interference analysis and the configuration of equipment.
- Assist with analyzing and resolving network hardware and software problems; checking systems for alarms, taking appropriate corrective action, and working with help desk/tech ops to resolve network problems.
- Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills
- Ability to terminate Ethernet cable and experience in data application. Technical expertise with a link Sprinter and/or Fluke Network meters.
- Must have knowledge of CATV Head End and CMTS equipment, and can install, service, and validate installations for proper configuration and optimum signal performance.
- Strong knowledge of CATV and Broadband systems. The ability to upgrade and repair commercial building cable plant RF networks.
- Knowledge of DOCSIS frequencies and the ability to perform DOCSIS testing on completed installations to ensure quality service and optimum signal distribution.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working in a field installation or repair technical role
- Effective listening and communication skills in client support driven environment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in typing, grammar, and internal communication tools.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft products including outlook, word, and excel. Also proficient in Google Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a field operational orientated environment.
- Able to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical employees & clients.
Special Requirements
- Able to handle all physical requirements including the ability to climb and work from a 10-foot ladder.
- Must be able to lift to 55 lbs.
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces.
- Required to pass HIPAA compliance test.
- Maintain appropriate hospital/institutional credentials.

Salary: $52,000-$55,000 per year (Based on experience)
