Position Overview: As an IT Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our information systems infrastructure. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and ensure the smooth functioning of our IT environment. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project coordination skills, and administrative proficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with stakeholders to understand requirements and propose technical solutions.
- Design and program information systems solutions, including applications, databases, and network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Conduct quality assurance to ensure systems meet performance standards and security requirements.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across different components of the information systems.
- Provide technical support to end-users and assist with problem resolution.
- Coordinate projects related to information systems, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Conduct technical needs assessments to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Create installation plans for new systems or upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Analyze and correct network malfunctions to restore functionality and minimize downtime.
- Serve as a system administrator, managing user accounts, permissions, and system configurations.
- Enhance operating environments to optimize efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), engineering, or a related field.
- One year of progressively responsible experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware and software. OR
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware and software without a Bachelor's Degree.
- Strong technical expertise in areas such as hardware, software, networks, and databases.
- Experience with project coordination, including planning, scheduling, and resource management.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- System administration experience is a plus.
