GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This is semi-skilled work involving responsibility for performing a variety of routine mechanical and other building maintenance tasks. In addition, the work may involve the operation of a truck, automobile, or other equipment. General instructions are received and work is performed under immediate or general supervision, depending upon the nature of the tasks.
Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (Illustrative only)
- General Janitorial work on a daily basis throughout the building
-Grounds Maintenance as required including snow removal
· Repairs windows, doors, floors, walls and other parts of buildings;
· Does interior and exterior painting
· Performs semi -skilled work in masonry, carpentry, electrical or painting operations;
· Install and repair general plumbing equipment such as sinks, toilets and baths;
· Install and repair wiring systems and electric fixtures and equipment;
· Assists in cleaning and repairing boilers, pumps, heaters, pipe lines, valves and traps;
· Operates trucks, cars, air compressors, snow blowers, lawnmowers, and other motorized equipment;
· Performs a variety of grounds maintenance activities including snow and ice removal, and trimming of trees, shrubs, and lawns
· Performs scheduled and routine preventative maintenance tasks throughout buildings and grounds;
Working knowledge of modern buildings and ground maintenance and repair practices; working knowledge of the practices and techniques of use of tools and materials used in building maintenance; mechanical aptitude; ability to read and follow instructions.
Maintenance duties – as needed – Responsible for all the day-to-day repairs, maintenance related inspections and daily work orders. The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Site Manager, whom shall consult with the Geneva Housing Authority Maintenance Supervisor.
This position will have primary responsibility for Finger Lakes Community Development Corporation properties located primarily in Geneva, but also Waterloo.

Pay: $17.95 - $20.21 per hour
