CMG is seeking an experienced Mechanical Test Technician (Environmental, Mechanical, Dynamics Vibration/Shock)
To be considered for this position, you must have two years’ experience in laboratory testing related to mechanical, environmental, and dynamics vibration/climatics. The technician will be responsible for performing a number of tasks associated with customer programs. This is a very hands-on position that will require the person/candidate to interact with a number of different customers on many different levels. The position will primarily be a first shift position with the core hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
An ideal candidate must:
- Understand and operate Electrodynamic and Hydraulic Shakers, Shock Test Machines, Temperature Chambers, multi-meters, etc.
- Program vibration software (Unholtz-Dickie and Vibration Research) to perform vibration, shock, and other similar forms of testing
- Gather necessary support equipment for testing (Controllers, Accelerometers, Fixtures)
- Have familiarity with test standards (MIL-STD-810, etc.)
- Be able to follow specifications from technical documents (test standards, customer specifications, and test plans/procedures)
- Have basic hand tools such as Allen keys, wrenches, and sockets
- Troubleshoot/identify problems with equipment
- Be familiar with the requirements of working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
- Have experience using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Maintain documentation throughout the course of testing, including detailed notes
- Complete test notes and reports in a timely manner
- Possess excellent verbal and written skills when communicating concepts, ideas, and routine details to various levels of technical and non-technical engineering and management personnel
- Communicate with management and customers about progress, test anomalies, and other issues
- Perform necessary repairs and maintenance
- Be able to think ahead in setups and foresee potential problems
- Be able to support multiple projects with a constant quality focus in a deadline-driven environment
- Be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Be a team player with the ability to work independently at times

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
