Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Records Management Analyst to provide records and information management assistance. The responsibilities include:
- Assess and document the federal agency's records processes, procedures, and information systems in compliance with regulations set forth by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
- Review annual records reporting requirements for the federal agency, and develop, implement, and document remediation plans for program areas classified as low, moderate, and high-risk.
- Identify and document the necessary requirements for records compliance, crucial compliance metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that require monitoring within a records management dashboard for a federal agency.
- Document observations and suggest solutions to guarantee the program adheres to compliance standards, including following retention schedules, promptly disposing of expired records, and meeting data privacy requirements.
- Perform inventories of both physical and electronic records, as well as provide services related to retention and disposition.
- Create and revise file plans, policies, and procedures.
- Update agency’s records retention schedules and draft new records retention schedules.
- Create, implement, monitor, and revise Records Management training, including facilitating training sessions.
- Provide record management awareness and guidance as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of six years of recent, pertinent experience in records management within federal agencies.
- Experience with the NARA Electronic Records Archive (ERA) and the Archive and Records Center Information System (ARCIS).
- Required to understand and implement federal policies, directives, and regulations.
- Three years of experience in the development, construction, and implementation of a records management program, including policies and procedures is preferred.
- Understanding of legal and regulatory mandates associated with records management, encompassing privacy, data protection, and retention schedules.
- Experience in managing electronic records management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess an analytical mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
- Proven expertise in applying records management principles to fundamental activities like physical and electronic information management, retention/disposition, training, etc.
- High Proficiency with MS Office, MS Teams, SharePoint, Adobe, Visio.
- Experience in System of Records Notices (SORN) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) is a plus.
- Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance.
- NARA Certification a plus
