Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial data and assisting in financial planning and analysis.
Duties:
- Analyze financial data and create reports for management
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Monitor financial transactions and prepare financial statements
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Proven experience working as a Financial Specialist or similar role
- Proficiency in financial software
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Familiarity with Payroll Process:
- Understanding of taxable income, nontaxable income and deductions, pre tax and post tax deductions.
- Knowledge of tax forms required for monthly, quarterly, and annual filings; experience with multi-state taxation is a plus.
- Awareness of payroll liabilities, including their timing and accounting treatment.
- Understanding of Accounts Payable Cycle:
- Differentiation between payables vs expenses; familiarity with the bill and payment process.
- Proficiency in interpreting aging summaries and conducting audits for accuracy.
- Understanding of Accounts Receivable Cycle:
- Knowledge of revenue and invoicing processes and their interaction.
- Ability to distinguish between payments posted to receivables versus revenue.
- Competence in Interpreting aging summaries and performing accuracy audits.
- General Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations:
- Ability to perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Understanding of Accounting Reports:
- Proficiency in reading and analyzing accounting reports to identify areas needing attention.
- Knowledge of debits and credits, including which accounts should have debit or credit balance.
- Understanding of loan mechanics and accurate posting of loan transactions.
- Familiarity with distinguishing between capitalized assets and expenses.
- Basic Tax Concepts for Small Business:
- Understanding of fundamental tax concepts applicable to small businesses.
