Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing a caseload of immigration matters, including family-based immigration, employment-based immigration, non-immigrant visas, asylum applications, deportation defense, and other immigration-related matters. Maintain organized case files, track case progress, and update case management systems.
- Document Preparation: Prepare, review, and assemble a wide range of immigration-related documents, petitions, applications, and forms for submission to government agencies such as USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services), DOS (Department of State), EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review), and DHS (Department of Homeland Security). Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on case status, gathering information, and addressing inquiries related to immigration processes, requirements, and timelines. Schedule client appointments, intake meetings, and consultations as needed.
- Legal Research Support: Conduct legal research and gather supporting documentation on immigration laws, regulations, policies, and precedents to assist attorneys in case preparation, strategy development, and legal analysis. Stay informed about changes in immigration laws and procedures.
- Government Correspondence: Interface with government agencies, immigration courts, and consular offices on behalf of clients. Prepare and submit correspondence, inquiries, and responses to requests for evidence (RFEs) or notices from immigration authorities.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to attorneys and legal staff, including managing correspondence, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining attorney calendars. Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and travel arrangements as needed.
- Translation and Interpretation: Assist with translation and interpretation services as needed, particularly for clients who are non-native English speakers. Translate documents, correspondence, and forms between English and other languages as required.
- Recordkeeping and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, documentation, and databases in compliance with firm policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements. Ensure adherence to filing deadlines, procedural requirements, and immigration regulations.
- Client Outreach and Education: Assist in conducting outreach activities and educational workshops to inform clients and community members about immigration laws, procedures, and rights. Prepare informational materials and resources for distribution to clients and stakeholders.
- Professional Development: Stay abreast of developments in immigration law, policies, and procedures through ongoing education, training seminars, conferences, and professional networking opportunities. Pursue professional certifications or credentials in immigration law or paralegal studies as appropriate.
Education & Experience:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or Equivalent Experience
- Required: Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Programs
- Required: Bilingual – Read, write, communicate (English/Spanish)

Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
- Legal administrative experience in immigration law.
- Strong research skills, particularly in legal research.
- Familiarity with document review and legal case management.
- Excellent writing skills, especially in the context of litigation.
- Knowledge of estate planning and family law is a plus.

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
