Wholesale Bakery is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Floor Manager to join our team. The Floor Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our packaging and distribution teams, ensuring efficient workflows, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a positive work environment.
This is not a desk position. The ideal candidate must be willing and able to spend the majority of their time on their feet interacting with staff, ensuring workflows and compliance to company procedures.
Responsibilities:
· Supervise and lead the packaging and distribution teams to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
· Collaborate closely with the Food Safety Manager to uphold and enforce all food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP and GMP guidelines.
· Train, mentor, and motivate team members to optimize performance and productivity.
· Monitor punctuality, break times and timekeeping procedures to ensure staff compliance.
· Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing staff to ensure adequate supplies are available for packing and distribution.
· Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
· Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
· Oversee quality control measures to uphold product standards and customer satisfaction.
· Maintain accurate production records and reports for management review.
· Document all disciplinary actions taken, including verbal warnings, written warnings, and corrective actions, in accordance with company protocols.
· Document insubordination and collaborate with HR to address misconduct or performance issues, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
· Document any incidents, accidents, or near misses in a timely and accurate manner.
· Communicate with customer service team regarding customer needs, issues, and packaging/ delivery adjustments.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in a managerial role within a bakery or food production environment.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
· Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
· Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software is a plus.
· Bachelor’s degree in food science, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
· Proficiency in both Spanish and English languages, enabling clear and effective communication with diverse team members is required.
· Physical ability to work on your feet for an eight- hour shift, as well as the ability to lift and carry product.
