About the role
The Scientist I serves as a technical expert to enable the optimization and execution of novel analytical methods to characterize the composition and mechanism of action of CytoImmune’s CAR-NK products. This individual supports the PD team as follows:
- ·Support analytical assays optimization, execution, and method transfer activities of identity, purity, and potency for CytoImmune Therapeutics CAR-NK products following FDA requirements.
- Help the Analytical Qualification team and help train QC personnel on optimized and qualified analytical assays.
- Support in the operation and maintenance of the lab and equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties
What you'll do
- ·In collaboration with a Sr. Scientist, design, plan, and perform characterization studies of in-process and final CAR-NK products using cell-based functional in vitro assays and various techniques including ELISA, multiparameter flow cytometry and qPCR.
- Identifies opportunities for further optimization of analytical assays and implementation of new methodologies to support characterization of pipeline CAR-NK products.
- Analyze experimental data and ensure timely documentation and record keeping in Electronic Notebook.
- Implement resolution to technical challenges, communicate effectively and present complex data within the department and cross-functionally.
- Drive project timelines and deliverables while meeting internal quality and data integrity requirements.
- Manage inventory of samples, critical reagents, and cell banks for assay development or controls.
- Author/review method development reports, protocols, SOPs, and technical documents for regulatory filings.
- Generates detailed method protocols to support final reports describing high-quality results with respective statistical analysis.
- Train junior research associates on various analytical methods including in vitro coculture assays, ELISA, qPCR.
- Improves operational efficiency in the laboratory.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
* Education and Behavioral Competencies
- MS or PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Biology, or related scientific discipline with 4+ years of research laboratory experience, in academic, or industry settings.
- Must have direct experience performing mammalian cell culture techniques (both tumor and primary cells), in vitro immunoassays, flow cytometry, DNA extractions, fluorescent microscopy, qPCR.
- In Vivo Studies
- Attention to detail – ability to conduct studies in a precise manner to ensure data accuracy and successful experiments.
- Critical thinking and Problem solving – Ability to interpret data accurately as well as to identify and find solutions to obstacles and technical issues.
- Collaboration - Ability to work well in highly cross functional team environment and across functions.
- Adaptation – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change in priorities.
* Knowledge and Skills
- Statistical knowledge for analytical data analysis.
- Ability to use scientific literature to plan feasibility studies.
- Excellent organizational skills as well as oral and written communication skills to present data and strategy.
- Resource Management - Ability to manage one’s time within individual and organization-wide goals and timelines.
- Strong knowledge in MS Word, Excel, Power Point as well as specialized software including FlowJo, GraphPrism or Illustrator.
Preferred Qualifications
What will separate you from the crowd
- Experience with characterizing a variety of cell types using multi-color flow cytometry.
- Experience developing or evaluating novel reagents for flow cytometry.
- Strong experimental skills on in-vitro cell-based functional studies, cell culture and maintenance, and potency assays for studying cell therapy or biological drug products.
- Experience working in a regulated GxP environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and function within a collaborative/team-oriented environment
- Innovative, critical and creative thinker, unafraid to propose aggressive solutions to complex problems.

- Working safely in person on a predictable and regular basis is an essential job function for this position and CytoImmune Therapeutics requires that all individuals, subject to certain exceptions, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- BloodBorne Pathogens certification and hepatitis vaccination are required.
- Flexibility to work on occasional weekends is required.
