Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license in this state.
- 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility preferred.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis and 100 pounds occasionally.
- Knowledgeable of Long Term Care practices and regulations.
- Ability to relate to and work effectively with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility, and to remain calm in emotionally charge situations.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language.
- Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- May be necessary o assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
As a RN (Registered Nurse) Supervisor you can expect to:
- Observe current regulatory guidelines from city, state, and federal agencies related to nursing care.
- Serve as the Supervisor of the nursing personnel.
- Ensure sufficient staffing is available to maintain quality care.
- Serve as a liaison for families, residents, staff, physicians, Care Team Managers, and Administration.
- Coordinate care with input from the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Make rounds to ensure that care is provided in accordance with acceptable nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
- Documentation and Nursing Care Functions.
- Maintain attendance records and assist with scheduling.
- Complete Accident / Incident, Abuse, and Occupational injury reports.
- Participate in Quality Assurance Programs.
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge assessments.
- Provide direct care as needed.
- Participate in the development of acute care planning.
- Ensure that work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
- Monitor nursing procedures to ensure supplies are used efficiently.
- Attends and participates in continuing education programs.
- Participates and provides nursing in-services.
- Educates residents and families.
- Provides outstanding customer service to all customers in accordance with ERS’s expectations and values.
