RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Keeps confidential all information not specifically authorized to be given to others.
· Study and support the St. Mark Village Mission and Principals.
· Coordinates Nursing Services Department activities with other departments.
· Analyzes and evaluates nursing and related services rendered to Residents.
· Direct care and services as delegated to by the Care Center Director of Nursing to assist the Residents in attaining and maintaining their highest most practicable level of well-being within reasonable expectations based on their conditions (participate in clinical portion of morning meeting, complete and or assure clinical risk tools, assure specialty care is provided within the standards such as dialysis and management shared with the dietary department, etc.).
· Responsible for developing, directing, and supervising Nursing Services concerned with Resident care, problem solving, and interpretation of polices.
· Responsible for the oversight of the Restorative Nurse Program and ensuring that the required documentation is kept current.
· Perform one-two sets of Care Center rounds per shift (to include common areas and rooms) utility rooms, medication rooms, etc.
· Participate in the on-call rotation for the Care Center.
· Assist in developing and gathering Quality Assurance concerns, policies and procedures, education, take an active role in QAPI. Participate in monthly QA meetings.
· Responsible for the coordination of the quality improvement process which includes in-service and education as well as data collection and analysis.
· Assurance that the following programs are in place:
· Participate in new Team Member orientation.
· Care Center specific in-service and education based on:
o location of work (SNF/ALF)
o position
o credential
o assessed needs.
· Participate in accident and Incident Report, Investigation, and Tracking System
· Infection Control Report, investigation, and Tracking System
· Participate and oversee the decision-making process of hiring, promoting or termination of Team Members.
· Ensure that Nursing Staff, for whom licensure is a legal requirement, hold a valid and current license.
· Assist with development, implementation and maintenance of Care Center policies and procedure manuals; makes revisions and modifications as necessary.
· Oversee and manage the yearly educational calendar and ensure compliance within Care Center.
· Meets with DON and or Administrator regarding activities of the department and problems encountered.
· Observes and follows safety policies and procedures.
· Observes and follows infection control policies and procedures.
· Attends all mandatory in services as required.
· Demonstrates positive guest relations to internal and external customers.
· Team Members are required to report to their Department Director all incidents of actual or possible abuse of a Resident that they become aware of. Abuse in this respect includes, but is not limited to, verbal, sexual, physical, and/or mental abuse, corporal punishment, involuntary seclusion, neglect, and/or any misappropriation of property concerning St. Mark Village Residents. Team Members will make the report as soon as possible after they become aware of the incident of actual or possible abuse.
· May be assigned other related duties and responsibilities as required by Care Center Director of Nursing.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· Must be a registered nurse (RN) in good standing in the State of Florida; minimum three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum of five years’ previous Management experience required.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, including knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
· Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbally and electronically. Must Possess thorough organizational skills, as well as an ability to work well with a Team.
· Knowledge of Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 and Care Planning process preferred.
