Job Summary:
We are seeking for a full time/part-time a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care and support to our patients, while ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for clients. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing a warm and welcoming environment that sets the tone for their visit. Duties:
- Greet and welcome clients, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
- Handle medical collections, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts.
- Answer the phone in a professional manner to schedule appointments, refill meds, and direct to the appropriate person if they have medical questions. No medical advice to be given over the phone unless stated by doctor.
- Greets client in reception, and checks them in.
- Ensures client are not waiting long, make sure to notify technician that the client has been check in, if there is any delays or emergency notified the client.
- Able to check clients out in a timely manner, even if the phone is ringing and there is a lot going on up front, able to maintain organization to keep workflow moving and attend to client needs
- Stay current with the latest veterinary terminology, ensuring accurate documentation and communication with veterinarians and other staff members.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and other support staff to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Understands all vaccinations, core vs elective and vaccine protocols, thereby being able to explain well to clients their pets needs/ requirements
- Basic client education–explaining the importance of preventative care, vaccines and surgical necessities, able to appropriately give estimates over the phone for routine procedures
- Calls clients to remind them of upcoming appointments, calls to inform them of any preventatives or procedures necessary to their pet’s health; rescheduling if appointment was missed
- Ensures follow-up has been scheduled
- Keeps appointment flow running smoothly, ensures teamwork and considerate communication
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in veterinary medicine or animal care.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Passion for animal care and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
