Join our team:
The Data Engineer focuses on acquiring data from various sources that are found in a Health System’s ecosystem. The Data Engineer leverages Catalyst’s Ignite Cloud technologies to acquire this data. Data Engineers become accustomed to both the technical and business details of the source systems and engage with multiple technologies on how to acquire the source data.
What you'll own:

Oversees bringing new source systems into the Catalyst Ignite Cloud environment

Ability to dig into and understand business logic within the source system data
-
Identify ways to innovate and extend functionality in Health Catalyst Ignite Cloud environment
-
Perform data validation tests to ensure quality
-
Balance tasks and priorities between multiple client projects and internal initiatives; ensure assigned tasks are executed efficiently and according to project requirements and timelines
-
Work with client’s data architects to train and mentor
-
Ability to lead above activities while mentoring client and other team members
What you bring:
-
Experience working in transformational projects where data platforms and/or ETL/ELT/CDC pipelines were implemented using Databricks
-
Experience with Big Data Platforms
-
Python development experience
-
Experience in Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, architecture, and related technologies

Experience/knowledge of database principles, processes, technologies, and tools
-
Intermediate level in Structured Query Language (SQL)

Experience working with EMR\EHR systems and an understanding of the healthcare clinical domain

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Customer first mindset

Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with other team members

Self-motivated; comfortable working under minimal direction

Ability to take pride in the quality, details, efficiency, and consistency of the data warehouse components that you will build, deploy, and maintain at scale
Nice to Have Soft & Technical Skills

Experience with processing HL7 messages, CCD documents, and EDI X12 Claims files

Familiarity with development methodologies, including the AGILE development approaches

Ability to code and comprehend code around cloud technologies that deal with acquiring data
Preferred Experience & Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, or healthcare-related degree

AND/OR 1+ years’ experience in healthcare/technology-related field
-
AND/OR 1+ years’ experience with big data platforms
Information Security and Compliance Responsibilities:
